Ancient Egyptian Ankh "Key of Life" Necklace - 2" bone ankh - Adjustable
"The Key of the Nile" or "Key of Life"
This adjustable surfer necklace features a white Ancient Egyptian Ankh symbol made of bone powder that measures approximately 2" long and about 1" wide. The ankh portion feels sturdy like stone but is not heavy like marble. It feels relatively light when worn. There is black necklace rope that is adjustable to whatever length you choose -- long or short. Two small wooden beads decorate the necklace above the ankh.
The Ankh is known as key of life, the key of the Nile or crux ansata (Latin meaning "cross with a handle"). It was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life." Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest.
How to adjust the necklace size
When you first receive the necklace, it may seem too short to pull over your head. Don't worry -- you can extend it to a very long length, about 18" long, if you choose. If you want it to fall low on a sweater, it will adjust to that long length. If you want to wear it shorter, closer to your neck, you can do that, too. To adjust, pull on one of the strings and you will be able to slide it and adjust to the size of your choice. If you have never worn an adjustable necklace like this, it is easy to adjust - just slide the rope/string and check to see what is the right length for you.
