Ankh poly necklace - adjustable
This is a 3" tall poly Egyptian ankh symbol on a rope necklace. The necklace is adjustable -- just pull on one of the strands to adjust to your desired size. Can be worn long like a sweater necklace or shorter near the neck. The ankh is fairly large, measuring 3" tall and 2" wide and is about 0.25" thick. There are two colors: dark brown and white. Each comes brand new in individual clear packaging with tag. There is a dotted pattern on the front of the ankh to give it a textured surface or antique look, but the piece overall is smooth and cool to the touch.
The Ankh is known as key of life, the key of the Nile or crux ansata (Latin meaning "cross with a handle"). It was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life." Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest.
How to adjust the necklace size
When you first receive the necklace, it may seem too short to pull over your head. Don't worry -- you can extend it to a very long length, about 18" long, if you choose. If you want it to fall low on a sweater, it will adjust to that long length. If you want to wear it shorter, closer to your neck, you can do that, too. To adjust, pull on one of the strings and you will be able to slide it and adjust to the size of your choice. If you have never worn an adjustable necklace like this, it is easy to adjust - just slide the rope/string and check to see what is the right length for you.
